Important Pre-Appointment Information
Please ensure you read ALL quote information.
By accepting our quote we are entering into a partnership where we have to work together to ensure we can perform this work in a timely fashion.
We ask for your help in just a few ways.
- Specific Timing - We do NOT provide specific appointment times for various practical reasons intrinsic to the job; eg. varying traffic between sites, time taken to access sites, completion of additional work on site that hadn't been highlighted prior to the visit etc.
Parking - Please ensure there is official parking no more than a 5 minute walk from your boat and that the towpath is suitable for transporting a trolley full of heavy tools.
Access - The majority of our clients will happily leave a key out for us but if this doesn't suit you then please guarantee you'll be at your boat for our arrival.
Please ensure the stove is cold in time for our engineer. We recommend that if the stove is in use the day before that the fire has been allowed to go out by 10-11pm and remove any burning coals/ash, it's quite surprising how the heat can be retained for many hours if not cleared.
Time must be taken to guarantee the questions on the service request form are answered correctly.
Location – The client is responsible for keeping us up to date on their specific mooring location (w3w locators preferred). Mooring locations must be easily accessible for our engineer’s whilst carrying tools etc. Therefore, areas with banks or hills, railings etc, will be deemed unsuitable and works will not be able to go ahead as scheduled and the call out fee will be applied.
If our engineer can not perform a scheduled service due to any of the above points not being met an additional £35 call out fee will be applied.
BE AWARE THE STOVE PAINT/POLISH APPLIED WILL GIVE OFF A SMOKE WHEN FIRST LIT. LIGHT A GOOD FIRE, OPEN ALL WINDOWS, DOORS AND IT WILL CEASE AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR.
Fresh Install – 2 visits required, 10-14 days apart, stove will not be functional between appointments. Payment for stove units is required in advance to secure appointments & ensure stock availability.
Flue Replacement – 2 visits required, 10-14 days apart, stove will not be functional between appointments.
Full Removal & Replacement – 2 visits required, 10-14 days apart, stove will not be functional between appointments. Payment for stove units is required in advance to secure appointments & ensure stock availability.
Door Repair - 2 visits required, 10-14 days apart, stove will not be functional between appointments, unless door can be swapped whilst repair is undertaken (subject to suitable stock availability).
Stove Service – Please be aware the stove paint/polish applied will give off a smoke when first lit. Light a good fire, open all windows/doors and it will cease after about an hour.
